Originally, Mickey's name was Mortimer, but Walt Disney's wife suggested the name change. Mickey and Minnie debuted in the cartoon short "Plane Crazy", first released on May 15, 1928, with Walt Disney voicing the Mickey character. Friends Goofy and Donald Duck were added later as friends of Mickey. A trip to any of the Disney amusement parks will earn you the experience of meeting these cartoon characters.
